STONECUTTERS BRIDGE MARINE OPERATIONS AND NAVIGATION ASSESSMENTS

Home >> Projects >> Stonecutters Bridge Marine Operations and Navigation Assessments

Planning of maritime works for the construction of Stonecutters Bridge across the entrance to the second largest container terminal in the world. The steel deck segments of main span of the cable stayed bridge were lifted at weekly intervals from a self-positioning barge protected by guard vessels. Lifting plans were agreed with Marine Department and Pilots Association following detailed hydraulic modelling and full mission control navigation simulations to formulate navigational procedures for container vessels arriving and departing the Kwai Chung terminals.
