Structural assessments are a key instrument in assisting clients understand the capabilities and limitations of their assets. Often an in-depth assessment of proposed operational loading can yield dividends in terms of enhanced operational load flexibility. These improvements in many cases can be proven without imposing significant operational restrictions.
Similar to planning, the earlier in the lifespan of a project that experienced engineering judgement is introduced, the greater the overall whole of life cost savings are realised. We take a whole of life approach to design because capital cost savings can be undermined by ongoing operational and maintenance premiums, particularly in aggressive marine environments.
