WHARF UPGRADE FOR CRUISE SHIPS
To support PNG hosting the 2018 Asia Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC) three cruise vessels will be berthed at Port Moresby to provide accommodation for the APEC 2018 participants. Project involved strengthening, upgrade and modification of the existing wharf structures for the safe berthing and mooring of the cruise vessels at the Main Wharf and Berth 4A in Port Moresby during this period. This required berthing and mooring assessments and structural design to identify additional bollards, breasting dolphins and a new fender system to cater for the one-off cruise ship visits. Services included preliminary and reference design of rehabilitation and upgrading works at Main Wharf and Berth 4A and technical review and support during construction.
